I finally had the chance to test my new camera, and let me tell you, it was an exhilarating experience! I spent days and nights photographing, exploring different settings and experimenting with every feature.
After a long night on the streets of Kathmandu, I captured what I believe to be the ultimate shot. I pushed the Canon EOS Mk 4 to its limits, utilising everything it had to offer, and it truly brought my creative vision to life. Stay tuned for the results—I’m excited to share them with you!
Setting up my camera, adjusting long-exposure settings, and waiting for the perfect moment foster mindfulness. This process helps me focus on the present, drawing my attention away from daily stresses.
I remember the toughest long-exposure shot I ever tried to capture was in Guatemala. I wanted to capture Vulcan at sunset. I was practically a buffet for hungry mosquitoes! But I refused to throw in the towel because I had a crystal-clear image in my head and was determined to get it. And guess what? I did!
Then there was that time in Canada and Russia when the weather was brisk, -30 to -42 °C. I swear I could feel my fingers freezing to my camera! But again, I persevered because I had a vision. Spoiler alert: I got the shot, but I think I left a few body parts behind in the process!
In Vancouver, I was engaged in an epic showdown with the rain for 14 days, each drop feeling like a tiny water balloon aimed at my camera, but I made it through.
Meanwhile, in Malaysia and Thailand, I was playing a high-stakes game of Frogger, dodging crowded pavements and heavy traffic like a ninja on a caffeine rush. At this rate, I might need a helmet and a raincoat to capture my next masterpiece!
Ah, those magical moments around the globe when you find yourself battling sand flies or trying to survive in a mud pit. It’s as if nature’s way of saying, “Surprise! Here’s a free spa treatment, complete with a side of irritation and a dash of discomfort!” Who needs a fancy holiday when you can experience the joy of being bitten and stuck in a gooey mess? Just a little reminder from Mother Nature that she’s got a sense of humour!
Amidst all the chaos, finding tranquillity in places like riverbanks or quiet valleys really strikes a chord. The soothing sounds of flowing water, rustling leaves, and a gentle breeze create an atmosphere that feels like a warm hug from nature itself.
