From the moment we crossed paths, a deep connection developed between us, founded on our shared belief in the transformative power of authenticity. As our friendship developed, we created lasting memories during photo sessions. Despite his occasional unpredictability, Peter frequently impressed me with his insightful remarks. His enthusiasm for learning motivated me to seize opportunities.
A kindred spirit in our shared love for technology, he was just as eager to explore the photography gear as I was to see his new inventions, small yet remarkable for a man of 100 years. Then, the crystal ball, which is perfectly round, is an excellent tool for all kinds of photography. He handled the crystal ball with care, examining it from every angle, while I watched him, listening and learning along the way.
Peter’s eyes lit up like a kid on Christmas morning, holding a small GoPro camera in his hand. “This tiny thing? It’s like a magic portal!” he exclaimed, holding it up like the Holy Grail. He was utterly captivated by the wonder of small technology, as if it were a marvel of modern science. “How do you fit all that memory into something so small? It’s like a tiny brain!” he marvelled, poking the battery as if expecting it to come to life.
Darling Peter would drift into a blissful daze of pure joy that was contagious. To boost his happiness, I decided to surprise him with an exhilarating ride in a sleek convertible. Although his eyesight was limited, he embraced the wind and the roar of the engine like a rock star.
The next day, he rang me, full of excitement, laughing about how my brilliant plan made him feel like a celebrity cruising in Monaco—even though we were just zipping around the block! A media outlet used my photo in their main news story without realising it was part of our epic adventure. Talk about stealing our thunder!
