I can’t wait to see how the story develops! I truly connect with Einstein’s belief that “Imagination is everything; it’s the preview of life’s coming attractions.” It beautifully captures the excitement of what lies ahead, and I’m eager to delve into it more!
At the start of 2018, I received an intriguing email from a woman inviting me to the Venice Masquerade Carnival. I saw this as a fantastic opportunity to finally meet her. After all, Venice is just an hour and a half away from my home in Slovenia. As we wandered through the stunning, lively streets of Venice, it felt as though we had known each other for years. The days slipped by quickly, and before I knew it, a week had passed in the blink of an eye.
I wasn’t surprised by her stories, but I was delighted by our shared interests! Every project I mentioned, she had successfully tackled, which was inspiring. Her detailed advice was invaluable. I’m grateful for her wisdom and support—it’s exciting to connect with someone so knowledgeable!
One evening, she said she didn’t want to meet the next day. At first, it surprised me, but I quickly saw the silver lining! That unexpected time alone allowed me to capture my best photographs from the masquerade, and I’m thrilled with the results! It turned out to be an excellent opportunity!
The next day, she warmly welcomed me into her workspace and shared an inspiring story she was developing, which perfectly complemented my projects. As I explore the world, I’m eager to discover unique local fabrics and crafts. Our aim is to create innovative travel clothing that is lightweight, breathable, and supports talented local artisans!
I’m excited to share my visit to Lellabella, an incredible yarn shop in Venice! The owner displays a superb selection of local yarns, including luxurious cashmere, exquisite Italian silk, and beautiful linen stoles and scarves. The lively styles and colours were truly captivating. If you’re a fibre enthusiast, this place is an absolute must-visit!
For years, my lady had longed to visit this extraordinary place and meet its owner, and at last, her wish was fulfilled. The excitement in her eyes sparkled brightly, as if she had just discovered gold. As she and the owner engaged in a lively conversation, I quickly became captivated by their exchange and lost track of everything around me within minutes.
I’ve realised how important it is to deepen my knowledge of various fabrics before unveiling my travel outfit collection. Every tiny detail is vital for creating a truly high-quality product. This dedication to excellence will make all the difference!
The Venice Carnival was the highlight of my trip, and I thoroughly enjoyed exploring mask-making. Our guide took us to Ca’Macana, a local studio where I was captivated by the intricate process of creating each unique mask. I left with a deep appreciation for these beautiful pieces and can’t wait to share my experience!

The selection of Venetian masks is truly stunning, and the friendly team creates a welcoming atmosphere that feels special. The owner’s kindness is a pleasant rarity in this field. The spotless environment adds to the charm, almost like a dental practice! Overall, my experience was enjoyable, and I am already looking forward to my next visit!
The owner warmly welcomed us and guided us through the premises, introducing the talented team and their meticulous mask-making process. We learned that the Carnival had been paused for nearly two centuries, leaving only glass and plastic mementos behind. Fortunately, in the early 1980s, the city council courageously revived the Carnival of Venice, revitalising its vibrant spirit and cultural heritage for everyone to enjoy!
Their company has beautifully revived the ancient craft of Venetian mask-making. Since 1986, they have been offering engaging workshops that not only teach participants the intricate techniques but also help preserve this rich cultural tradition. I eagerly look forward to my visit to Venice next year, as I want to fully immerse myself in this creative experience and learn from skilled artisans.
There, I discovered an incomplete dust-covered mask (almost at the attic level) that drew my attention. I pulled it out and found the mask I was looking for—the one I have already seen, as it would already have been finished.
With a radiant smile, my lady friend exclaimed, “You’ve found it, Sabina—your vibrant community! This journey is truly meant for you, and I couldn’t be happier!”
